We run a family business that treats your business like family
Without question, we all want value for money. The Internet has made it increasingly easier to find it. Although we are a small business, we are a member of a large, national, stationery buying group. This allows us to compete with the multinationals, and provide value for money.
But what sets York Stationers apart from the rest?
We provide a high standard of personal service in a culture that has seen this quality of buying experience become a thing of the past
We are not bound by rigid corporate policies. Because we are small, we are sensitive to the needs of individual businesses, and adapt accordingly
27 years in the industry make for a wealth of experience and the ability to advise customers, who can often be confused by the vast array of available products
Our clients' calls are genuinely important to us. With two real people answering the phones, there is never a need to navigate recorded voice prompts. We remember our customers, establish good relationships with them, and get to know their stationery requirements. Nothing ever gets lost in the system
We attend to enquiries promptly, and go that extra mile to source items that are not readily available
Always professional in our dealings, we also have fun with our customers, who enjoy the humour in a world that can be too serious. Because of this, even though we provide an online ordering facility, many of our customers prefer to order over the phone.
In addition to our online ordering service, available on request is our catalogue. This features up to 7000 products. As well as a comprehensive range of stationery items, our catalogue includes office furniture, office machinery, and mailroom, janitorial and kitchen supplies. And because, today, there is so much to choose from, we also now provide a service where we will visit new or potential clients to offer stationery solutions tailored to meet their company's specific office needs.
York Stationers' MVPs
Jeff Houseman Director of York Stationers, Jeff promotes his business as a fun outfit, and his customers appreciate the light-heartedness in a world that can be too serious. Nonetheless, he is a diligent businessman who never compromises on customer service. This aspect of a strong work ethic earned him a 2012 Westpac Small Business Award. Jeff believes teamwork is the key to success. Working collaboratively with staff, suppliers and customers alike, Jeff's long-standing relationships with all are testament to his business integrity.
Darryl Pitt Working in tandem with Jeff is Darryl. This stalwart has occupied the same chair since 1988. His commitment to the business is above and beyond the call of duty. An ardent sun worshipper, Darryl has been known to sacrifice a weekend on the beach to come in and paint the walls. Now that's loyalty! With his easy laugh and as York Stationers' own in-house Yoda, patiently listening to clients and happily dispensing words of wisdom where necessary ‹ Darryl is a very popular staff member.
